In response to rapid changes in climate change and global risks, the British Standards Institution (BSI) encourages practical action to transform to net zero and implement sustainable development. The BSI recognizes companies with outstanding sustainability performance based on their level of practice every year. At the award ceremony held today (11/19), Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) was selected from more than 3,000 companies to receive the “ESG Sustainable Development Award – Pilot Award,” marking the fifth consecutive year of winning the award. Yuanta Securities and Yuanta Funds, subsidiaries of Yuanta FHC, were honored with the “Digital Trust Excellence Award” for providing customers with safe and convenient financial services with uninterrupted operation.

Yuanta FHC actively promotes Yuanta Group’s strategy roadmap for sustainable development, integrating the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and developing 52 medium- and long-term goals in the areas of environment, society and corporate governance (ESG). Yuanta FHC leads the industry in adopting the sustainability disclosure standard of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in our annual ESG (sustainability) reports, and has passed the BSI certification for ten years in a row, enhancing the transparency and credibility of sustainability information. Our 2023 Climate and Nature-Related Financial Disclosures Report has been certified at the highest level of “Level 5+: Excellence,” and Yuanta FHC is one of the first companies in the world to adopt the framework of the Taskforce on Nature-Related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) to identify nature-related financial risks.

As the government pushes for a net-zero transformation, “sustainable talent” is the most important foundation. Being a member of the Coalition of Movers and Shakers on Sustainable Finance, Yuanta FHC is the convener of the Empowerment and Certification Working Group, which serves as a bridge between the government and the industry, and vigorously promotes the incorporation of sustainability into the self-regulation of the financial industry.

Nowadays, the financial industry is faced with complex and changing risks such as information security, geopolitics, environmental disasters, and climate change, etc. At a time when the scope of threats and challenges is expanding, Yuanta Securities has comprehensively constructed several information security risk prevention mechanisms. Yuanta Securities has acquired the certificates of ISO 27001 Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) and ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) in 2015 and 2023, respectively, to optimize information security governance through the international standard system to cope with various potential risk events.

As the leading public equity fund in Taiwan, Yuanta Funds actively implements sustainable finance through digitalization and establishes an action plan for information security and uninterrupted operation to build a security fortress for customers. Yuanta Funds has introduced ISO 27001 ISMS since 2020, which has been verified by the BSI, and certification audits are carried out every three years. Yuanta Funds likewise completed the introduction of ISO 22301 BCMS in 2023 and obtained the certificate at the same time, in order to provide stable financial services in today’s disaster-prone environment.
